I tried to utilize my "off time" on the road
touring with Kilimanjaro and Paul Butterfield by visiting antique shops and
other places around the country that had old postcards. Many of the cards
in this sampling of my personal collection may have little or no commercial
value to a "professional" collector, but I feel that they say volumes
about our culture and our sometimes peculiar behavior as human beings. The
cards in my collection that are truly collectible are one's that pinpoint
a particular period of history in our culture. For that reason, I have included
some disturbing, as well as some beautiful images that I have collected of
Blacks in America at a time in American history that I'm sure many would
like to forget.
I hope that you enjoy this sampling of my collection.
